New Associate Principal at Ames High
Jeff Anderson is the new associate principal of student programs. His main responsibilities are dealing with Special Education, working with district committees such as Teacher Quality Committee, and overseeing the clubs at Ames High. He transferred from Ames Middle School.
What are your goals for the year?
My goals are to do the best job I possibly can with my new duties at Ames High. I want to do everything I can to help all students succeed in our school and be prepared to go out and continue that success throughout their lives.
What do you think makes Ames different from other districts?
We have a tremendous amount of success in so many avenues. The diverse interests of our students and staff provide a place that everyone can excel in. There truly is something for anyone to be a part of. That isn’t something that happens everywhere.
What do you enjoy most about Ames High?
I enjoy working with the students and staff. Ames High has so much to offer all students. With that, I enjoy seeing our students excel. Our students have phenomenal success in and out of school. It is very fun to be a part of such a great organization!
What’s one thing that students should know about you?
I’m truly honored to be working with Ames High Students. I have an open door for students and want them to know that I’m here to help in any way I can.
What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?
Probably caviar. It isn’t something I cared for, but I’m always open to trying new things!
If you could be a tropical animal, which would it be?
I’d love to be able to run like a leopard!
Anything else?
I’m just thrilled to be seeing all the great kids I worked with at the middle school!
